Blog Stuff

1. Have you ever met anyone through your blog that led to an in-person friendship/relationship? I once read a blog and realised that the lady worked at the same company as me, we have met at work a few times but we have never become out of work friends.

2. Most bloggers have a specific niche. What would you discuss if it didn’t seem inappropriate on your blog? Probably a few more personal things or topics that people want to talk about but just daren't discuss.

3. If you could meet three bloggers, who would they be? I would love to meet up with Alexis ( aka Running Away? I'll help You Pack) my new blogging friend from the USA. I would also love to go to Spain and meet Alison, I think we could happily sit in the sun together for a few hours getting to know each other.

4. If you had to choose between Facebook or Twitter which one would you choose? Do not Twitter so very easy.... Facebook.

5. Do you vlog (video blog?) I have never done this, have never actually worked out how to get videos on to the blog, they always seem too large and I don't know how to condense them!

6. How many blogs do you read on an average day? It varies depending on what day it is, but I read as many as I can. I too don’t always comment because I too cannot be bothered by the immense hassles one must often go through to post a comment on blogger.

7. What is the coolest thing that you’ve seen online recently? It would be some of the amazing pictures from the 2012 Summer Scavenger Hunt I am involved in.

8. If you gave your blog a new name what would it be? Whenever I change the template, I do always wonder if I need to change the name, but can never come up with any thing else to be called. But after all my blog is about life today so it is actually a perfect name for me.

9. Have you ever attended a blog conference like Fitbloggin? If not, would you? We don't seem to have anything like that here in New Zealand. If there was I would love to attend and learn things and meet people.

10. In the past I have asked why you blog. Now I want to know why you read blogs? What do you take from it? I read blogs for a variety of reasons. I like to find how others have dealt with life, happy things that are happening to them and to read their stories on their life and realise that we do at the end of the day all pretty much experience the same things with kids and that we are not alone.

Found this in the paper......

Two women have been caught trying to bring drugs and drug paraphernalia into Auckland Central Remand Prison.


When their car was searched at a prison checkpoint, staff found three methamphetamine pipes, 13 small bags with traces of methamphetamine, a cannabis-hash cookie, and two cans of vodka, Auckland Central Remand Prison manager Grace Smit said.


The two women were at the prison recently to pick up the property of a friend on home detention.


"Whilst talking to prison staff one of the occupants of the car admitted she had active charges and was a co-offender of her friend whose property she had come to pick up," Ms Smit said.


Police were notified and one woman was arrested and banned from entering the prison grounds for 12 months.

I have only one question about this report?
Now she has been arrested, where does she serve her time?

How do I reply to people's comments?

I have noticed that when I leave comments on others blogs (they are usually blogspot like me too, not just wordpress) they email me a reply to comment or say thanks.
I would love to do this to some that comment here, but I don't know how?

Anyone know any little secret they are willing to share with me anytime soon?

All In a Mornings Work

By 8am this morning, I had already been confronted with the following questions to answer!

1. Why are there 30/31 days in the month?
2. Why are they building that building just there?

Luckily for me they asked these just as I was about to get out of the car to enter work, so I happily put them off with the answer for now and said I would get back to them!

Cats and More

Alex and I went to the shopping centre today to meet a friend for her birthday and to also get Christmas shopping for Steve.

On the way there I had a rather indepth conversation with Alex, the kind that all parents dread having with 4 1/2 yr olds!

He started by asking about getting collars for the cats. He said something about wanting to take them for a walk! I mentioned that we had them once but that the cats did not like them, but that they are both micro chipped so not too worried. Plus also cats don't like being taken for a walk, only dogs like that.

This lead on to how we named the cats? Alex named Barney and Ben named Prenzel.

Well this lead on to why we named the cats? So I explained but then said why we name things or people.

Which lead onto to him asking about who named him? I explained that it was a joint decision between Mummy and Daddy.

Well who named Ben, that one I answered was chosen by Grandma.

Well who named Grandma? I told him her mummy had done that.

Well where was her mummy? Can you now see where this conversation is going?

So I explained that her mummy, my grandma was dead.

Why? Well because she was really old and got sick. Well where was her daddy?

Same explaination given.

Well where are they?

So I explained about what happens when you die and that you get buried. I explained that my Grandma and Grandad were up in the sky with the stars and the moon watching down on us (I am really not 100% sure on exactly what I want them to believe, but I like this explanation and do believe in that theory, if you know what I mean)

Well that lead on to Steve's Dad, who is currently with us. Was he going to die? Yes I explained, he would one day.

Well why?

Well because he is getting old and that one day he may get really sick and then die.

So where is Daddy's mummy? She has died too, many years ago when she got really sick.

Was she old? Hum...no! So I explained that sometimes people get really really sick and sadly they die.

Then I got...Well will daddy be sad when his daddy dies? Yes I explained, when Grandad dies, daddy will be sad, we will all be sad, but we will look after each other and keep each other happy.

I can't actually remember now how the conversation ended, I was a little choked up having this conversation, but I obviously gave him the answers he was looking for.

Don't they have inquisitive minds at this age?
