Kitchen Update

Well the kitchen has had some small work done on it in the last week.
I finally got the back splash surround for the stove area.

When we changed over to a gas stove last year, the builder put up a fire sheet for us, because by law we had to have something.

So we went from nothing to this

Now there is only the painting to do and the kitchen will be finished.
Yea, 1 room down, many more to go!

New Kitchen Pictures

You may remember this post about the kitchen in our new house.

Well here are the pictures of the new kitchen just before we moved in.....

New Kitchen

Last week these nice 2 men came and built my new kitchen.

It took them all day but I have a lovely new kitchen.

I will take a picture of the completed kitchen and show you before and after soon, just waiting for the oven and dishwasher to be finished so you get the real good effect.

Gibbing the Wall

We had a horrid piece of partical board up in the kitchen that was very old and not good at all.

We got a gib stopper in to make all the seals nice, but he said he could do it even better if we could replace the board with proper gib board.

So Steve had the pleasure of removing said board and replacing it with a nice smooth board that will give the wall a much better finish. And we want that seeing as we are going to be painting the kitchen and the previous owners had it wallpapered.

As always Steve had 2 little helpers in this project who are always ready to climb the ladder and generally get in the way!

The Kitchen

We took over the keys for the house yesterday and already Steve has been hard at work!

This evening he had a mate come round and help him out, so when the boys were in bed I went up and had a look.

The house by the way is all of 100 metres from where we are currently living, so can see each house from each drive way, so boys were quite safe.

Can I change my mind and say I liked the old one? Think I would get shot if I did!

Although I am having such fun designing our new kitchen.

So I have a small suspicious feeling that Steve is happy with the house even though we haven't had the LIM report from the council. Think he was happy with the Builders Inspection because he let me go out and buy this.....

Man how I love doing up a new kitchen, ok it has it's moments but gives a girl something to do, and this is just my sort of thing designing and planning.
