On Google Earth it is in fact all of 0.7 miles away but driving takes longer as we have to go around the river that runs through the centre of Hamilton.
Being out of zone we had to apply when we wanted to send him there last year. This consisted of a ballot and yes he was successful.
It also means that when Alex starts school next June (7 months away) he will be attending out of zone too.
The school have just done the ballot for the first 2 terms next year this last week, and as Alex will be attending as of the end of term 2, we have had to apply for his position now, all 7 months before he starts school!
Now we never had any worrieds about his ability to get into the school as he more or less walks in due to having a brother there, but still it is nice to have it confirmed by the school that yes he was successful and that yes there is a place for him when he starts school next year.
So even though we still have 7 months to go until my little baby starts school, it is nice to know he will be with his brother at the school that we wanted.
