Foxton

On route from Wellington to Auckland with the van we were lucky enough to have the ability to just stop whenever we saw something to look at.

As we past Foxton we spied a windmill, so turned off to have a further look.

De Molen Windmill - This is a full size operating Dutch Windmill. It is open to the public 7 days a week and allows visitors to experience a little of Holland. Tours of the working parts of the Mill are conducted and souvenirs and "milled flours" are available for purchase.

Another attraction we found right next to the windmill was a whole display of murals. It seems that Foxton has a large number of beautiful murals, depicting scenes from days gone by.

Here are a few that I liked.
